Montreal, Canada
April 26th, 2008
I took a plane to Montreal with my mom. We went to celebrate my Great-Great Aunt’s 100th Birthday. My mom says she’s “great” for a lot of different reason. I just thought she was really nice and it was cool to have a party for her. The Mayor of the town she lives in came to wish her a happy birthday too and had us all sign a special book. I don’t know where it goes, but all I know is that somewhere in Canada, my signature is in a special book.

Since we were in Canada I thought it would be awesome to check out the “Sugaring Off” that they do with the maple syrup. If you check out Canada on the William Wanders map, you will see a picture of someone pouring maple syrup on ice. The syrup becomes cold and hard and you take a popsicle stick and twirl it around until all the syrup sticks to it. It’s like making a homemade lollipop! Check out this picture where I am making it.

We got to see a lot of other interesting landmarks and buildings while we were there too. One of the most famous that we visited was the Notre Dame Cathedral. It is gigantic, and when you go inside it is even bigger than what it looks like from the outside! The organ in there is huge! It looks like the pipes they used in Animusic.
Oh yeah, one more thing about Montreal, they speak French there. Did you know that? “Bonjour” means Hello.
Next stop is Pennsylvania! Stay tuned…
