Switzerland
February 9th, 2010
This adventure should have us on our toes, or maybe our behinds! We are in Preda-Bergϋn, Switzerland to take go sledding. Yes, I know we could stay home and go sledding but in Switzerland they have created one of the longest floodlit sled trails in Switzerland and Europe that takes you about 1,400 down the hill. I hope mom and dad hold on tight!
We hopped on the Rhaetian Railway to our destination to a small village named Preda. I was not nervous about the sledding adventure until they told me that there are parts on the route that are totally dark and you need to watch out for other sledders that may have crashed. That made me realize I needed to watch out where I was going and not get too crazy on my sled.
It was my turn to get on my sled and head down the hill. Wheeee!!!! Oh boy was I flying down the hill fast! It was so much fun! It seemed to go a lot faster than I thought. Just when I felt I had it under control it was time to go around a curve, YIKES! I got a little nervous but made it around the turn with no problems! Oh Yeah! Then came the dark area, and lots of trees; uh oh, I was hoping not to crash in that area. I made it through like a rocks tar. I realized I was better at sledding that I thought I would be.
Once I came to the bottom of the hill I had such a fun ride I wanted to do it again, but Mom and dad where not at the bottom yet so I had to wait for them. As it turns out mom is a better sledder than dad, he ended up wiping out around one of the turns and had to get back on the track so that slowed him down a little. Mom and dad had fun and really enjoyed the scenery with the farms and villages along the trail.
See you later!
